Our Story
In March 2020, professional musician and educator Michael Pickering founded Pickering Performing Arts and Entertainment LLC amid the COVID-19 pandemic to offer free music lessons as a beacon of hope and community support. The overwhelming response led him to establish Pickering Creative Artists Academy. Fulfilling his vision for a modern, comprehensive arts academy, The academy now serves students of all ages and skill levels, offering a diverse range of classes in performing arts, digital production, and entertainment, along with live and digital event experiences.

Curriculum
Level UP!
LEVEL UP! IS OUR MUSIC LEARNING RE-IMAGINED CURRICULUM DESIGNED WITH TODAY’S MUSIC STUDENT IN MIND.
Based on the National Standards for Music Education, (and our innovation) we’ve created a learning experience that engages and inspires students. We’ve created a color-coded “Wristband Roadmap” with clear and achievable goals so students and parents can track both process and progress. Students LEVEL UP! by completing goals and earn a series of scaffolded colored Pickering Academy wristbands to display their progress. We provide cloud access to recorded musical tracks that students can play with at home in between their weekly classes. PLUS – students have opportunities every month to take the stage and strut their stuff through our Open Stage Nights, Student Showcases, Concerts, and other special events.

We produce 5-10 theatrical productions every year. Musical theatre, plays, improv, and more for kids, teens and adults.
Student Showcases
We produce 4 Student showcase concerts every year in which all students of all ages and ability levels can choose to shine in the spotlight.
Fun Nights
We provide opportunities for students, families, guests, and community to come play at the studio. Pizza parties, jam sessions, improv, karoke, and more.
